BIG NEWS BREAKING:
Roger and I will both be turning 60 in 2017. We decided to take a truly epic trip to mark the occasions.

Neither of us will actually celebrate our Birthdays during the two month odyssey, but we are excited to kick off a year of celebration at the beginning of March. We will be joining Bubba’s Pampered Pedalers and riding Coast to Coast on our tandem.
It’s the southern (shorter) route. It starts in San Diego and Ends 52 days later in St. Augustine. We are challenging ourselves and definitely stepping out of our comfort zones with this commitment. We’ll be camping, both indoors and out, as well as staying in some cabins and hotels.
We invite you to share our journey and follow this blog. I can’t promise daily updates, but we’ll do our best to keep it current so you can follow our progress. If you click follow you will get the blog directly in your email whenever we post. I am not sure I’ll have the time, energy or bandwidth to post links on Facebook, so follow the blog, join the excitement and don’t miss a thing!
What an awesome adventure!! When does it start!!
We fly to San Diego on 3/1, actual first day of riding is on 3/4!
We are with you! Ken’s dream. We will watch and see if it is for us as well.
God Speed.
So excited about your adventure! Let the training continue…
Amazing adventure!!
Looks incredible. You will need to call Rebecca when you are near Houston!
How exciting! Wishing you and Roger a safe and fun ride. Looking forward to seeing your posts and GTR this year!
Let Kevin and I know if you have time to see us if we pop down to San Diego before you leave. We don’t want to take away from your friend hosts, but we would love to see you before we take off on our big adventure. If it doesn’t work out to see you in San Diego, we will definitely keep in touch as our trip will be evolving so we are’t sure where we will be next fall.
You guys ROCK! We hope that you have a tail wind the entire way and you discover some acceptable gelato (Ok fro-yo) stores along the way. – Kurt and Debbie.
I’m so excited for you. Every one has a someday dream. In 2013 I said this is someday. I took my 12 year old road bike. I was obese scared. People laughed when I told them I was going. I lined up with 23 strangers in San Diego. 52 days later I finished with 23 friends I’ll never forget. The beach 🌊 in st Augustine is a magic place. This is a life changing event.
Looks like we’ll be in St. Augustine when you finish. It would be great to celebrate your achievement with you. We’ll follow your blog. Please letus know where and when the finish is!
We’ll let you know!
