Spring Training, It’s Not Just For Baseball Players

C2C (Coast to Coast) is getting real. We have twelve days to ride in the warmer weather in Florida. When we return home, we’ll have a week to get ready for departure!

The weather certainly has been varied as have our rides. It is pretty flat here, but on this trip, mileage is king. Here is a breakdown of the first 6 days, which adds up to 295 miles:
Day 1 – 32 miles and rain
Day 2 – 58 miles and wind
Day 3 – 51 miles of rural beauty with virtually no cars
Day 4 – 42 miles of flat pastures
Day 5 – 62 miles with fog for the first half of an organized charity ride and the pleasure of riding with two other tandems
Day 6 – 50 miles of rails to trails.

I’ll let the pictures tell the rest of the story!

We are hoping for 6 more days of riding, but we aren’t sure the weather will cooperate.  I’ll have that update in about a week.

  1. Best of luck on your ride across USA! You have certainly had more training than us. We leave Monday for 3 weeks on south island New Zealand.
    Take care,
    Judy

  2. We’ve been thinking about you guys and your training for the C2C. We just completed our annual warm up Tour de KSC. Weather was great and we enjoyed seeing and talking with a few other tandem riders. A wonderful 37 mile ride through the historic Kennedy Space Center.

Wishing you BEST OF TRAVELS ! C U at the GTR 2017
