The rest day was terrific (aren’t they all?). We spent 2 nights at Camp Marydale. During that time, we had the opportunity to visit the historic and beautifully preserved city of St. Francisville.
The trees are older than the churches.
Relaxing at the Girl Scout camp and taking in the sights on an afternoon walk was a highlight for us.
I even made a new friend!
Anne treated us to a fabulous Cajun dinner ahead of our 87-mile day.
Meanwhile, back on the road today we encountered the hilly terrain left for us by the glaciers of days gone by.
Although we are in Louisiana, today was not a flat ride!

Ending a ride with ice cream always makes it better!
We did a tiny bit of research and we found Sweet Peas’s Treats on the route, and lucky for us, they serve Blue Bell Ice Cream.
