It’s not the south of France, but spending time in Southern California is not too shabby either! We are fortunate and grateful to have parents with a home in Orange County. They are not here year round, and generously invite us to come enjoy this cycling mecca when we can. We are living it up for three glorious weeks in the OC with our 15-year-old Erickson tandem.
If you are new to the blog, and are interested in how the tandem travels and gets put together, you can go to this blog post from our summer adventures in Provence
Highlights of our first week include extraordinarily hot temps (okay that may be a lowlight).

Spectacular sunsets and stunning sunrises for those lucky enough to be awake.

30 miles a day on the bike, some questionable behavior from our rear hub (okay another lowlight) and a subsequent overhaul at the Jax bicycle shop in Huntington Beach.

And a trip to Beverly Hills for dinner and a screening of “Burnt” with Roger’s Hollywood-connected friend Madelyn.

Coming up next: A ride with the Southern California Tandem Group and a visit with the “Vons”.
